ISLAA is pleased to announce the five fellows selected for the inaugural ISLAA Research Fellowship Program. Launched in early 2025, the program supports emerging scholars whose research explores overlooked artists, collectives, and exhibition histories in the field of modern and contemporary Latin American art.
The 2025–26 fellows will each undertake a short-term research residency at ISLAA’s offices in New York City, engaging with our archival collections and community. Catalina's residency at ISLAA will see her visit archives pertaining to Galería Lirolay, Instituto Di Tella, Anna Bella Geiger, and the Centro de Arte y Comunicación (CAYC). This research will contribute to her dissertation entitled "The Spatial Laboratory: New Media Art by Women Artists in Brazil and Argentina, 1970s-1980s."
