Beili Liu announced as Texas’ 2018 three-dimensional artist

The 2017 and 2018 appointments for the Texas State Legislature’s state poet laureate, state musician, state two-dimensional artist and state three-dimensional artist were announced in May, designating Studio Art Professor Beili Liu as the 2018 Texas state three-dimensional artist.

The Texas State Artists are designated during the 85th Legislative Session for one-year appointments. The eight appointees named for 2017 and 2018 were selected for their years of excellence and dedicated commitment to the arts in Texas. This designation is the state of Texas’ highest recognition for excellence in the arts.
