Bio

Dorrah Alharbi has received her BA in History at the University of Illinois in Chicago (UIC), where she focused on the history of the Modern Middle East. At the University of Texas in Austin, Dorrah is researching the history of Modern and Contemporary Art of the Arab world and the Middle East. She is interested in the relationship between (traditional) Islamic Art and (modern) Arab Art in the Middle East and diaspora, focusing on the Arabic letter as a form of inspiration.

Dorrah has held positions at UIC’s Arab American Cultural Center as an Archivist Assistant, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, as well as the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, as a curatorial fellow for the Art of the Islamic Worlds gallery in 2022.
