Bio

BFA, Painting, Kent State University

Jack Tozzi (b. 1998, Cleveland, OH) is an Austin-based painter whose practice explores the emotional and psychological space of the figure and the environments that surround and shape them. He views his figures not as travelers moving toward a fixed destination, but as wanderers who drift and linger within an internal landscape. While his figures often remain stoic and reserved, subtle gestures, posture, color, and atmosphere offer quiet suggestions of their interiority. The tension lies between what is revealed and what remains uncertain. That uncertainty leaves room for different narratives and possibilities to coexist. Tozzi received his BFA in painting from Kent State University and is currently pursuing his MFA in Painting at the University of Texas at Austin.
