Dr. Sally Whitman Coleman received her PhD in Art History from the University of Texas at Austin in 2003. She has been teaching art history at museums and universities in central Texas for more than 25 years. Her research and teaching focuses primarily on Northern European Art, 1400–1700. Her dissertation research and publications, supported by a Fulbright Grant, consider narrative and reception of the art of Hans Memling (1430–1494). In recent years, she has been conducting research on 17th-century art and optics and acting as editor for Tim Jenison at Seventeenth Century Cinemas in San Antonio, TX. Her current research focuses on 15th-century landscape painting in Northern Europe.
Sally also is a personal property appraiser specializing in Postwar, Contemporary and Emerging Fine Art. Her undergraduate degree in Art History is from Skidmore College.
