Jasmine McMasters (they/them/theirs) is the Admissions Coordinator for the Department of Art and Art History. They manage undergraduate admissions for the department and assist freshmen, transfer, and even current UT students through the process of applying to the Studio Art, Art History, and Art Education majors. When not in their office, Jasmine is visiting high schools to speak about art and art history, hosting admissions events like portfolio days, and working one-on-one with students on their art goals.

Jasmine received their BFA in Painting with a minor in Art History from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design in 2015. They were a resident in the New York Studio Residency Program in 2014 and a Pfister Artist-in-Residence Finalist in 2015. Post-graduation, Jasmine began working in admissions while also pursuing their passion for community-based art projects. They went on to co-found such projects as The Grilled Cheese Grant, a grant for emerging artists in the Milwaukee area that raises funds by selling grilled cheese sandwiches.

A Texas native, Jasmine relocated to Austin in 2019 and has been working for the Department of Art and Art History since 2020. Their favorite things about Austin are the swimming holes, eclectic thrift shops, and thriving drag scene, in which they can be found occasionally performing on a weekend night.
