Area Head — First-Year Core: Time and Technology
Katy McCarthy is a multidisciplinary artist originally from California. Her work includes video, sculpture, and performance. In 2019 she had a solo exhibition at the Wildflower Center in Austin, Texas and has been included in group shows at 601 Art Space, NYC; Tiger Strike Asteroid, Los Angeles; Cluster Gallery, Broolyn; Flux Factory, Long Island City; and the Santa Barbara Contemporary Art Museum. Her videos have screened at NURTUREart’s 2018 Single Channel Video Art Festival, the 2018 CUNY Video Festival, the 2018 Queens Boulevard Film Festival, and the 2019 Every Woman Biennial. She has been an artist-in-residence at SOHO20 Residency Lab, Brooklyn; Grin City, Iowa; The Wassaic Project, NY and the St. Elmo Fellowship at UT Austin. She received her MFA from Hunter College in January 2018.
