Current Art Education graduate student Alive Brandenburg is currently serving as the project coordinator for the "Let’s Read" project, a partnership between The University of Texas at Austin, Lincoln Center Theater in NYC, and the U.S. Embassy in Sarajevo to co-design lesson plans, online resources, and trainings which use Sandra Cisneros’ "The House on Mango Street" to explore issues of identity and home through English and arts literacy.
The Let's Read leadership team includes Brandenburg, Katie Dawson, Associate Professor of Drama And Theatre For Youth And Communities/UTeach Theatre, Kati Koerner, the Director of Education at Lincoln Center Theater, and six K-16 educators, or Arts Integrated Teaching Fellows from Bosnia and Herzegovina. As part of the project, Brandenburg organizes and oversees the design and implementation of the nationwide project, creating the educational website, and providing instruction and oversight to the educators and the U.S. team.
