Anonymous Silent Interior #5 with Night Window (214-103)

The Fort Worth Community Art Center will exhibit Silent Interiors That Speak by Ruth A. Keitz (MFA in Studio Art, 1970) on Nov 3 and will be on view until Nov 21, 2017. Silent Interiors That Speak examines how we create a space where we live and where we work. The eponymous Silent Interiors include former classrooms where Keitz has taught, former offices, views from rooms in her home, views of rooms in what was her sister’s home, and empty rooms in her childhood home. The works use mixed media and often include a variety of found objects. Keitz’s art is likely to be “ropa usada” or man-made or natural discards. The exhibition examines four thematic corridors: how we look out of a room to the outside world, how the outside world spills into our space, how part of us remains in a room, and how our memory reshapes the past.
