Studio Art Assistant Professor in Transmedia Kristin Lucas has be named one of approximately 100 members of the 2019-2020 class for the New Museum's cultural incubator, NEW INC. This yearlong professional development program focused on fostering cultural value offers resources and an expansive network to artists, collectives, studios, nonprofits and start-ups. In its sixth year, NEW INC has divided its class into six tracks, which include Interactive Experiences, Museum Technology, Creative Experiments, Experiments in Art and Technology (E.A.T.), Ideas for the City, and Equitable Platforms. Many projects, including Lucas', emphasize social impact, addressing issues of data privacy, climate, access, education, and labor, among other pressing humanitarian concerns.

Lucas has been brought in under the Interactive Experiences track that has welcomed studios, start-ups and creative projects working with emerging technologies like augmented reality, virtual reality, video game design and immersive installation.
