Things to Know before Applying

  • Students are admitted for the fall semester only.
  • Applicants must have a transfer GPA of at least 3.00 to be considered for admission.

  • Preference is given to applicants who have completed the equivalents of our AAH Core courses. Learn more about coursework equivalents.
     

1. Complete the admission application to UT Austin.

Things to Know

  • When prompted in the application, enter your first-choice major as:
    BA Art History (570700)
  • Applicants will only be considered for admission to one major in the department.

  • When prompted in the application for essays, you should submit Essay Topic D as the second required essay.

2. Track the status of your application materials.

After you submit your university application, you’ll receive an email that includes your UT EID (university digital identification), allowing you to access the MyStatus website at admissions.utexas.edu/mystatus.
