Meet with Lucy Mulroney to hear about her new book Andy Warhol, Publisher (University of Chicago Press) and the world of special collections and archives.

Lucy Mulroney is the Associate Director of the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library at Yale University. Her writing has been published in The Believer, Counter-signals, Grey Room, and Criticism, among other places. Her new book Andy Warhol, Publisher, provides the first in-depth study of Warhol’s career-long involvement in publishing. In addition to her book on Warhol, Lucy has curated exhibitions, including Strange Victories: Grove Press, 1951–1985, which traced the evolution of the publishing house from obscenity trial to feminist strike; and Black Utopias, co-curated with Joan Bryant, which took the 50th anniversary of the publication of The Autobiography of Malcolm X as the impetus for an exploration of the utopian visions that have circulated in Black communities since the Antebellum period. Most recently, Lucy oversaw the completion of the NEH-funded Marcel Breuer Digital Archive and she has started a new book on the photography of Margaret Bourke-White.
