As part of the U.S. premiere of Flora at LACMA, UT Studio Art faculty and artists Teresa Hubbard / Alexander Birchler will engage in a free-ranging conversation alongside UT Art History Professor Richard Shiff and LACMA curator Stephanie Barron on March 28 at LACMA's Bing Theater.

Hubbard and Birchler will discuss their discovery of the unknown artist Flora Mayo, with whom the Swiss sculptor Alberto Giacometti had a love affair in Paris in the 1920s. While Giacometti is one of the most celebrated artists of the 20th century, Mayo’s oeuvre has been destroyed and her biography was previously relegated as a footnote in Giacometti scholarship.
